Ability to connect an existing payment processor account (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net)

The ability to connect an existing payment processor such as Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net instead of using Givebutter's. Specifically to receive non-profit rates.

This is literally the reason that we don't use this system. It's a shame, because the user experience on the other side is so great. However, with limited personnel bandwidth, we can't add another payment processor to deal with on top of the one we already have (one that nearly every other platform connects to). Oh well. It's a shame the voices of hundreds of customers don't make this something worth pursuing, even if it was a different pricing structure.

They're not going to do it? That's disappointing. With over 700 upvotes, it's clearly something that users need. Please please reconsider

New user. Just set up our account for a Peer2Peer account and was very annoyed we couldn't connect to an existing Stripe account. Almost abandoned the process. It's basically going to double some of our accounting work on the back-end having both a Stripe account and now a GiveButter-specific Stripe Express account. Whether we use GiveButter beyond this year's experiment depends on how much of a pain this is.

I just spoke with somebody in Customer Service, who pointed me to this Canny request. As somebody who has a pre-existing not for profit Stripe account and just to be clear, I would like to limit the discussion to Stripe .. I use this Stripe account for more than just our inbound donation campaigns. I have other integrations (some home grown and some third party SaaS), which each require API access to a full fledged Stripe account. Something that Givebutter can provide, when connecting to Stripe, is the option to link to an existing profile or follow the existing workflow and create an express profile. I truly understand the reasoning for Givebutter to want to encourage the express account, but as many people have stated in this thread, it's extremely limiting for the charities being supported that already have a full Stripe account. I understand that many givers cover the transaction fees, which monies would still be used to cover those same transaction fees.
There are a number of open source PHP based Stripe connection examples out there, as well as the stripe documentation: https://docs.stripe.com/api/account_links/create
This type of approach would allow charities with existing Stripe profiles to leverage their own, while providing express access to those without.
To be clear, I represent a charity who would like to be supported and in kind support Givebutter, but the extra complexities in having an extra Stripe profiles (two per charity program) is just not tenable.

Hi all, we appreciate all the comments and votes you’ve made on this feature request. We’re not currently planning to add support to connect existing payment processors.
We understand that this has been a pain point for several of you, and we continue to evaluate ways that we can make Givebutter as cost-effective as possible.
Currently, 95% of donors on Givebutter cover processing fees, reducing your effective rate. Our current approach is also how we're able to support payment methods like PayPal and Venmo.
We’re currently planning several updates to our reporting functionality to make financial reconciliation easier for donations processed through Givebutter.
Best,
Kevin

It's interesting that this request was done almost 4 years ago and nothing has happened and it's still something we need. Flexible payments to something we already have connected to our accounting system is essential.

For the love of Pete! The lack of functionality created by requiring the creation and use of a Stripe Express account is a substantial user barrier. I pitched GiveButter as an all-inclusive donation portal and now it looks like another pit that we have to throw our precious staff hours into. What a profound disappointment. Now we will have to pay our bookkeepers to reconcile all transactions or set up some seriously clumsy zaps...how frustrating.
The lack of this feature is a burden to the nonprofits that are trying to squeak by on minimal overhead. Please do what needs to be done to allow organizations to use existing Stripe accounts. What a waste of time and resources that could be better used for mission-driven work. Having 2 Stripe accounts is redundant, confusing and prohibitive for our staff and volunteers. Boo.

Stripe Express does not provide the level of transactional detail required for reconciliation and accounting purposes. Stripe Standard would be a better option.

Oh man. We need this to be a thing so bad.

This needs to be a feature for sure.
