This is consistently confusing - people search their email for the ticket, or in the case of a digital event a LINK to the event. Receipt especially makes no sense with a FREE event. Either way "receipt" doesn't meet the user intent.
I suggest ability to manually override. In my current use case (a fundraising webinar organized using a event campaign), it would have been "Here's your webinar link for

Yes, please! The ability to customize donation receipt subject lines is really important, especially for events. We have a handful next month and it’ll be confusing to people

Better yet, create an administrator-managed email template. Give the administrator complete control over not only the subject line but also the full text of the email.
