You can now manually add and register auction bidders directly from the dashboard!
What’s new:
- Add bidders from the Bidders table using the new Add Bidder button
- Create a new contact or select an existing one
- Optionally request bidders to add a payment method (based on your auction settings)
- Bidders receive an email prompt them to complete registration
- Track bidder status at a glance and resend requests anytime
Plus, improved bidder management:
- Edit full bidder profiles (not just bidder numbers)
- Easily view linked contacts when using existing contacts

Elaine Makikalli This is good. A next step would be to AUTOMATICALLY register each ticket holder as a bidder for any event that has an auction. Obviously, there will be exceptions/errors for certain tickets (like tickets purchased in a bundle and the purchaser doesn't have all guests confirmed at the time of purchase).

Elaine Makikalli Yes, this is great! I agree with Lexy's comment that the urgent need to have the option to automatically register bidders when they buy a ticket for an event with an auction. I was told by a Give Butter account executive that automatic bidder registration is being launched early in 2026. Can you provide any details on this or a possible lauch date/month? Thanks!

We also desperately need this ASAP! We want to use GiveButter for our event where primarily it is auction, raffle and paddle raising - but I can't even see how to run this event efficiently if bidder registration is not automatic with ticket purchase. Why is it not automatic? The tickets have a number associated but it's not the bidder number - how confusing is this? So we need to be able to assign bidder numbers to ticket holders manually then. It seems that's the only way we can log what they purchased. Happy to do it this manually. Just please make it possible!

Please add the Manual entryoption for registering bidders. Admin must be able to manually enter registration information for a bidder as well as credit card information. Also the ability to update credit card information. "Register to bid" link did not work for many people, and we had to write down bidder information, then invoice after the event and wait for payments.

We are reviewing how using Give Butter went at our and this is the first time we used it. An iportant issue that continues to rise with our committee is the ability to either manually register bidders, but even better would be the option to automatically register people as bidders when they purchase a ticket for a campaign event that has an auction associated with it. Is this being planned? As others have said, this comment is marked as in progress but has been for a while. I would like to be able toassure our committee that Give Butter is working on this very needed feature.

A decent alternative could be a text/SMS that a user simply clicks to complete registration instead of setting a password, then clicking on an email, and then clicking a link and/or filling in a code. If people haven't pre-registered, the line for any large events will be held up by this process.
There needs to be a better way to register bidders.
