I would suggest that in the case where extra time is needed due to late bidding, you still “end” the auction. Or give us clear notification that it is necessary for me to end the auction.

A recent bidder believed the auction end time was being manually extended because they only received the standard "You've been outbid" notification and saw the end time continue to change. It would be helpful to display a banner, note, or include messaging in bidder notifications indicating that the extension is due to Popcorn Bidding, so bidders understand this is expected behavior and not a manual change.
